Late in the night of a Monday, Tuesday already. For the last few weeks everything has become a countdown to this coming Friday. The 9th of May 2008 will be the day that I take a plane with destination Bangkok, the place I will be calling home for the foreseeable future.

Much excitement to come but this last week is just plain boring sorting out all the practicalities. Getting my packing done is by far the most tedious of all tasks in sight. Wanting to be a good girl and having decided not to procrastinate too much I set to the task this afternoon. Of course I have too much stuff and all efforts to condense matter have failed, must slim down these bags big time. My initial thoughts were just to take 30K with me, no more no less. Now, this plan might need some fixing and I might end shipping one extra case. We shall see.

Now is time to decide what is important and what I can do without. When moaning about how much stuff I had somebody asked me “are you taking silly things like electricals with you?” Well, actually, this might set me apart from some fellow females, but I much rather take my gadgets with me and leave some clothes behind. If something has to stay let the clothes be it, I am pretty sure I can get some new shirts in BKK  easily, now my TV tunner or my lovely WIFI digital photo frame I wouldn’t find in the night market. Then again you never know, I hear that you can get anything you want in one of those markets. I will be testing that rumor.

Sunset due in 1 hour. Better go now and catch some sleep. Tomorrow is another day to say goodbyes.
